Hello, Citizens of The Blogosphere,

As you may already know if you follow me on Instagram (@annotatedaudrey) we canceled my birthday trip to CA. It was a hard decision to make because I hate being away from the people I love during this scary time but inevitably, we felt it was the best decision. In the past few days, we also found out that all of the events happening in the Spring have been canceled, which for most local makers accounts for a huge chunk of income. Needless to say, just like the rest of the world right now… the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic has me worried and very anxious.

As such, I thought I would share some tips about how I’m attempting to cope with this situation on a psychological level.

❤️Stay connected. Stay in touch with friends and family via social media, text, etc. Situations like this can be isolating, so reaching out to others can help.

💜Stay informed, but don’t overexpose yourself to the news. It’s depressing.

🌺Keep calm and stay positive. It’s easy to get lost in the negative. Take some time to think of all the positives in your life and be grateful for those things.

🦋Stay busy. Digital: The internet is a magical place. There are countless resources for learning, entertainment and more. Analog: Read a book, color (it’s super relaxing), play board games with your family, write in your journal or declutter your home.

🌼Create moments of joy for yourself and others. Sometimes it’s hard to find joy in situations like this… so we must create it. Practice self-care and do things that make you happy. Send someone a sweet or comforting message. Support or share a small business with your friends. Find ways to do small things that make a big impact on others.

That's all for now!

Have a good week and keep calm & wash your hands.
